Transparency and related land governance issues in Ethiopia and a plan for improving transparency in land governance

This report explores the Government of Ethiopia’s land policy, laws and procedures against international best practice (e.g. the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security). The report also investigates land administration issues impacting transparency such as land investments and harmonising rural and urban land policies, particularly in urban expansion areas. The report includes a proposal for a plan for improved transparency in land governance.
