Streamlining retail regulation to improve farmers’ access to agricultural inputs

This policy brief analyses retail regulations regarding agricultural inputs. It describes how LIFT is working with the Government of Ethiopia, using a ‘making markets work for the poor’ approach, to build a free, open market to improve smallholder productivity. The brief outlines current distribution channels, documents progress made and makes recommendations for further action to simplify and standardise regulations and improve market access for smallholder farmers.
